Letter to my girls 🤎

To my girls,

Yesterday we saw the world choose to elect someone of the lowest moral character in to the presidency over a Black woman who is no doubt capable of doing and exceeding at the same job.

The vote has never been about democrats vs Republicans for me, it has been about liberation vs. oppression.

I hope that you all know that you are seen, heard, valued, and although Black Women find themselves in spaces that are responsible for community and healing, it is not your responsibility.

What Kamala so bravely did was to put what we already know on national headlines, Black women are more than capable of being at the top, but we still live in a system that sees that as a threat.

I am holding lots of thoughts and feelings today and that is absolutely okay because they will be temporary. We will do what we do best and rise above.
